A look at Pakistan's cotton business
The spot rate committee of the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) on Thursday reduced the spot rate by Rs 500 per head and closed it at Rs 20,500 per head. The local market remained bearish and trading volumes remained satisfactory.
Cotton analyst Naseem Usman told that the price of cotton in Sindh is Rs 18,000 to Rs 20,500 per head. The rate of cotton in Punjab is Rs 19,000 to Rs 21,000 per head. The rate of footi in Sindh ranges from Rs 6,500 to Rs 9,000 per 40 kg. The rate of footi in Punjab is Rs 7,500 to 10,500 per 40 kg.
He also informed that 725 bales of Kotri were sold at Rs.18,200 per head, 400 bales of Khado at Rs.18,300 per head, 1483 bales of Rohri at Rs.18,400 per head, 1151 bales of Cranberry at Rs.18,500 per head. 1000 bales of Moond, Shahdadpur Rs 20,000 per head, 600 bales of Panu Aqeel, 600 bales of Ghotki Rs 20,500 per head, 400 bales of Sanghar Rs 20,800 per head, 600 bales of Fort Abbas sold at the rate of Rs 20,000 to 21,000 per head ( Bet), 200 bales of Lodharan at Rs.19,500 per head, 2000 bales of Yajman Mandi at Rs.19,000 to 19,500 per head, 1400 bales of Haroonabad at Rs.19,500 per head. 19,500 to 19,800 per head, 800 bales of Fakir Wali at Rs.19,500 per head and 200 bales of Rahim Yar Khan at Rs.21,000 per head (condition).
