Big Relief for Cotton Farmers! Haryana Govt Announces Subsidy of Up to ₹4,000
The Haryana government has announced financial assistance for cotton farmers to help them purchase micronutrients and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) inputs. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana announced the scheme on August 26, 2026. The initiative aims to improve cotton crop health, increase productivity and protect farmers from losses caused by pest attacks.
Under the scheme, eligible cotton farmers in Haryana will receive a subsidy of 50% of the cost of eligible agricultural inputs or ₹2,000 per acre, whichever is lower. The subsidy will be available for a maximum of two acres per farmer, meaning eligible farmers can receive financial assistance of up to ₹4,000. The benefit is intended to help farmers purchase essential nutrients and pest-management materials for better crop care.
Farmers must purchase the prescribed micronutrients and IPM inputs according to the scheme’s guidelines. The agricultural inputs should comply with the recommendations of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, and must be purchased from semi-government institutions, cooperative societies or authorized dealers. After purchasing the eligible inputs, farmers must preserve their bills and upload them along with the required details on the Haryana Agriculture Department’s official portal.
The department will verify the submitted bills and other information before releasing the subsidy to eligible farmers as per the scheme’s rules. Farmers should carefully check all details on their bills before uploading them to avoid problems during verification. The last date for uploading the purchase bills is September 15, 2026. Eligible cotton farmers should complete the process before the deadline.
