The Indian rupee weakened by 15 paise against the US dollar on Wednesday, closing at ₹95.15 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹95.00 against the US dollar and fluctuated throughout the trading session. It eventually closed at ₹95.15, down 15 paise from the opening level.
At close, the Sensex was down 251.89 points or 0.34 percent at 72,781.89, and the Nifty was down 99.25 points or 0.44 percent at 22,622.70. About 2351 shares advanced, 1694 shares declined, and 129 shares unchanged.
