The Indian rupee weakened by 08 paise against the US dollar on Wednesday, closing at ₹94.97 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹94.89 against the US dollar and fluctuated throughout the trading session. It eventually closed at ₹94.97, down 08 paise from the morning level.
The Sensex fell 373.93 points or 0.49 per cent to 76,570.35 and the Nifty50 was down 141.35 points or 0.59 per cent at 23,914.45.
