The Indian rupee lower by 20 paise against the US dollar on Wednesday, closing at ₹95.23 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹95.03 against the US dollar and fluctuated throughout the trading session. It eventually closed at ₹95.23, lower 20 paise from the opening level.
At close, the Sensex was down 352.64 points or 0.48 percent at 73,246.03, and the Nifty was down 50.90 points or 0.22 percent at 22,698.85. About 2178 shares advanced, 1957 shares declined, and 185 shares unchanged.
