The Indian rupee weakened by 36 paise against the US dollar on Thursdsay, closing at ₹94.82 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹94.46 against the US dollar and fluctuated throughout the trading session. It eventually closed at ₹94.82, down 36 paise from the opening level.
At close, the Sensex was down 460.30 points or 0.62 percent at 73,249.39, and the Nifty was down 123.70 points or 0.54 percent at 22,687.65. About 1323 shares advanced, 2670 shares declined, and 155 shares unchanged.
