The domestic currency opened at ₹95.89 per dollar and remained volatile during the trading session. It eventually settled at ₹95.95, marking a decline of 6 paise from the previous close.
At close, the Sensex was up 332.63 points or 0.45 percent at 74,336.45, and the Nifty was up 99.00 points or 0.43 percent at 23,217.60. About 1913 shares advanced, 2241 shares declined, and 180 shares unchanged.
