The Indian rupee strengthened by 13 paise against the US dollar on Wednesday, closing at ₹95.82 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹95.95 against the US dollar and fluctuated throughout the trading session. Despite the day's volatility, the rupee eventually closed at ₹95.82, marking a gain of 13 paise compared to the opening level.
At close, the Sensex was down 48.78 points or 0.07 percent at 72,480.29, and the Nifty was down 95.75 points or 0.42 percent at 22,620.45. About 2051 shares advanced, 2135 shares declined, and 187 shares unchanged.
