The Indian rupee higher by 13 paise against the US dollar on Friday, closing at ₹95.55 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹95.68 against the US dollar and remained volatile throughout the trading session. It eventually settled at ₹95.55, up 13 paise from the previous close.
At close, the Sensex was down 120.83 points or 0.16 percent at 74,781.76, and the Nifty was down 79.70 points or 0.34 percent at 23,398.10. About 1773 shares advanced, 2373 shares declined, and 190 shares unchanged.
