Rupee opened 3 paise stronger at 96.17 against the US dollar

The rupee opened higher at 96.17/$.

The Indian rupee opened 3 paise higher at 96.17 against the dollar on Wednesday, compared to its closing at 96.20 on Tuesday.

The Sensex rose 520.41 points, or 0.68 percent, to 77,575.34, while the broader Nifty rose 159.7 points, or 0.66 percent, to 24,211.75.
