The rupee opened higher at 95.39/$.
On Friday, the Indian rupee opened 29 paise higher at 95.39 against the dollar, whereas it had closed at 95.68 on Thursday.
The Sensex was up 59.26 points or 0.08 percent at 77,987.41, and the Nifty was up 34.35 points or 0.14 percent at 24,351.50. About 1294 shares advanced, 889 shares declined, and 157 shares unchanged.
