The Indian rupee higher by 61 paise against the US dollar on Friday, closing at ₹93.90 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹94.51 against the US dollar and fluctuated throughout the trading session. It eventually closed at ₹93.90, higher 61 paise from the opening level.
At close, the Sensex was up 1,718.01 points or 2.17 percent at 81,028.02, and the Nifty was up 493.75 points or 2.01 percent at 25,030.35. About 1681 shares advanced, 2400 shares declined, and 148 shares unchanged.
