On Friday, the rupee had closed at 94.95; today, it opened at 94.86 per dollar, marking a gain of 9 paise.

The BSE Sensex opened at 74,594.65, down by 134.62 points or 0.18%. The NSE Nifty 50 opened at 23,096.85, down by 49.30 points or 0.21%.
