Cotton: Cotton sowing has reached 46.34 lakh acres, representing 97.72% of the normal sown area. It has thus emerged as one of Telangana's key Kharif crops this season.
Oilseeds: Total oilseed sowing has covered 37.18 lakh acres, which is 83.07% of the normal area. Soybean remains the primary oilseed crop; it has been sown across 36.65 lakh acres, accounting for 87.97% of its normal coverage.
Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall and isolated thunderstorms in parts of Telangana over the next few days. This rainfall is expected to aid the remaining Kharif sowing operations and boost soil moisture levels. Additionally, farmers are advised to ensure proper drainage arrangements in low-lying fields to prevent issues related to waterlogging.
