The rupee closed 01 paisa higher against the dollar at 89.85

On Friday, the Indian rupee opened at 89.86 against the dollar and closed 01 paisa higher at 89.85.

The Sensex closed 367 points lower; the Nifty at 26,042; IT and auto stocks saw the biggest declines.
