The rupee had closed at 95.44 on Thursday, whereas today it opened at 95.68 per dollar, registering a decline of 24 paise.
Indian stock market benchmarks opened lower on Friday. In early trade, the Sensex was down by 700 points, while the Nifty fell by more than 200 points.
