The rupee had closed at 96.32 on Thursday, whereas today it opened at 96.22 per dollar, marking a gain of 10 paise.
In early trade, the BSE Sensex was trading at 72,386.14, up 476.44 points or 0.66%, while the NSE Nifty was trading at 22,528.95, up 107 points or 0.48%.
