The rupee closed 11 paisa higher against the dollar at 94.91

The Indian rupee opened at 94.91 per US dollar on Thursday and appreciated by 11 paise to settle at 95.02 by the close.

At close, the Sensex was down 582.86 points or 0.75 percent at 76,913.50, and the Nifty was down 180.1 points or 0.74 percent at 23,997.55.
