Rupee Gains 8 Paise, Opens at 96.49 Against Dollar.

The rupee opened higher at 96.49/$.

On Thursday, the Indian rupee opened 8 paise higher against the dollar at 96.49, whereas it had closed at 96.57 on Wednesday.

Sensex opened at 76,515.10, down 239.95 points or 0.31 per cent, while Nifty started the session at 23,904.80, slipping 91.45 points or 0.38 per cent.
